The Depreciation Lands Museum is one of the last places where visitors can learn about the 720,000 acres of western Pennsylvania given to the state's soldiers after the close of the Revolutionary War in place of cash. Every weekend during the spring, summer and fall seasons, costumed interpreters share the experience of living in the early 1800s in this then-isolated area of Pennsylvania. Historic buildings like the 1803 Armstrong log house and the 1837 Pine Creek Covenanter Church still stand on the grounds of the museum, and the museum workers bring these structures to life with talks, activities and stories. Positioned north of Allison Park, about a mile south of I-76, the museum is near Shoppers Plaza and Hamilton Township Park.
Open Apr - Nov: Sat. - Sun. 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Mon. - Fri.; Closed Dec - Mar.
